covid-19 protocols and updates

As we continue to find ways to move through this pandemic, I wanted to share some updates and reminders about covid protocols to take good care of us all. Please do not hesitate to email or call me with any questions you have. If you haven't been in to see me in a while and would like to schedule an appointment to boost your immunity, support your mental health, and decrease pain and imbalance.

Consent Form Needed for Each Visit:

Here is an updated COVID-19 consent form that will need to be completed each visit moving forward. If you, or anyone you have been exposed to, has had covid-like symptoms in the last 10 days, please call me ASAP.

Disinfecting and Sanitizing Protocols:

Before the start of the day, all surfaces you come in contact with are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized and disinfected. I use an EPA-registered, hospital-grade cleaner that is also safe for living plant and animal beings. In between each patient visit, I sanitize and wipe down all frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, treatment tables, chairs, bathroom surfaces). As always, shoes come off at the door so that we can reduce the spread of germs via our outside feet.

Scheduling and Patient Distancing:

Only two patients are scheduled per hour, which allows me 15 minutes in between sessions to properly clean the areas we use. I work to minimize patient overlap wherever possible. Your punctuality has been deeply appreciated!

Mask and Protective Gear Life:

I ask you to wear a mask before entering the practice. If you don’t have a mask, no stress. Come to your appointment wearing a face covering and I will give you a free surgical mask. I wear an N95/KN95 mask and medical scrubs with antimicrobial fibers to add an additional layer of safety for you. You may sometimes spot me wearing medical exam gloves--more on this in the next section.

Hand Hygiene:

I will continue to practice Clean Needle Technique, as always, which includes, but isn’t limited to, washing my hands thoroughly between each patient interaction and using an (alcohol-based) hand sanitizer as needed within a session. The drying effect of alcohol-based hand sanitizer has driven me to don gloves from time to time (though this is not something that CDC guidelines deem necessary for your safety during treatment). I will have hand sanitizer available in several places for you to use. Don't hesitate to ask for a few sprays or pumps while you're here!

Tongue Diagnosis:

I miss being able to freely look at your tongues--so I have been asking folks to call me via FaceTime or WhatsApp from the car so I can get a look-see.

Ventilation and Purification:

An air purifier and fan are continuously running in the studio to allow for cleaner air and circulation. A heat lamp is always in action these days to make up for the cold. A diffuser with a combination of eucalyptus, peppermint, orange, and/or clove oil is continuously running in the office space in order to help support our lung health.

Cancellations:

If you need to cancel for any reason other than illness, I greatly appreciate at least 24 hours notice. As a small business where appointment slots are limited, this makes all the difference.
