Our Services

We deeply value accessibility and equity.

Equity and access are core values of Flow Acupuncture, especially for those of us who have historically been on the margins of healthcare: QTBIPOC, Disabled, Poor/Working Class, etc. The sliding scale is based on your level of access to resources. Please honestly reflect on your financial capacity and consider a rate that works for you (use the guide below as a reference). Note that for individual acupuncture appointments, the sliding scale is only available after your first treatment.

The higher end of the scale subsidizes the lower end and makes it possible for me to offer free and low-cost acupuncture to the community. If you would like to make use of the sliding scale, please communicate any adjustments you may need to make to your fee as your circumstances change (e.g. when our treatment frequency decreases, consider increasing your payment toward the true cost of treatment; if your monthly income changes in either direction, communicate what is feasible).

No one will be turned away because of financial capacity, as long as you are committed to the care plan I suggest for you.

Payments can be made via cash, checks made payable to "Flow Acupuncture," credit/debit card, or via Zelle henaz@flowheals.com. All credit card payments will have 3% transaction fee applied.

24 hour cancellation policy:

  • All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.

  • A cancellation fee will be charged if you miss or cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before it is scheduled.

Accessibility Note:

Please know that there are currently 3 steps to enter Flow. Upon entering, the first floor, including bathroom and treatment rooms are fully accessible. We recognize that our entry is a physical barrier to care for anyone who cannot access steps. If you are someone whose access needs are not met because of the outdoor steps, please know that we are committed to offering Acupuncture treatments to you from the comfort of your vehicle until a ramp has been made. Reach out to us for more details.

Acupuncture is a traditional healing modality that originated in China and has been practiced for over 4000 years. Qi, our life force/energy, flows within our bodies on intricate pathways. There are 14 meridians of qi that course through our bodies; these meridians correspond to organs, emotions, and musculoskeletal systems.

When there is a blockage, deficiency or excess of qi along these channels, the body manifests pain, illness, or disorder of many kinds. Usually these disruptions occur because of our injuries, behaviors and stressors. Acupuncture needles serve as “traffic conductors” that remind the body’s qi to flow more effectively where it is needed. These slender, sterilized, single-use disposable needles are inserted in different points on the body to direct or re-direct the smooth flow of qi within us.

Acupuncture treats the root, not just the symptoms of the problem. It helps bring balance to the yin and yang within all of us and greater efficiency to the mind, body and spirit.

We offer:

Healing happens better in community. Let’s heal together.

Join us on second Sundays of the month for a community acu-detox session. This session is 45 minutes long. You will receive 5 needles in each ear (NADA protocol) while sitting in a zero-gravity chair. There will be up to seven other people in the room with you. The NADA Protocol is phenomenal for stress, trauma, pain, insomnia and detoxification. Sliding scale offering: $20 - $50 per session. Payments can be made in cash, check or via Zelle henaz@flowheals.com.

Reiki and Marma Chikitsa

Marma and Reiki are both energy healing techniques in which a practitioner moves and restores the flow of prana and qi (ki in japanese) through touch. Using powerful points and energy centers, you activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.

Yoga & Qi Gong

Join us for our monthly (on 2nd Sundays!) accessible “Flow Breathe Be” classes to get our qi to flow, our body to breathe, and our mind to be. Using a combination of prānāyāma, accessible yoga/qigong practice and yoga nidra, we will reset our bodies, minds and spirits.

Yoga, the sister science of Ayurveda, originated in India some 5000 years ago. The word yoga comes from the root Sanskrit word, yuj, meaning union. It is a philosophy and way of life that aims to re-unite the mind, body and spirit so that we can return to the wholeness we already are. There are 8 limbs of yoga, though it has come to be understood for many as the poses alone. It is, in fact, a deeply spiritual path that guides us inward and helps us bring us back to balance.

Qi Gong, the movement and qi-cultivation practice of East Asian Medicine, is a comprehensive system designed to support individuals in harnessing their life force energy. Qi Gong practices incorporate fluid movements that are accessible by nature and help to boost overall immunity and health.

Workshops

Flow hosts community-based workshops on healing justice, bodymind care and non-dual philosophies. We have worked with local universities and organizations on deepening understanding of these notions and gaining mindfulness tools necessary to navigate our personal, professional and social lives. If you’re interested in booking a workshop with us, contact us!
